Applied Mathematics  (4th Edition) by David Logan, Wiley-Interscience.


Homework

Weekly homework will be assigned every Wednesday and due on following Wednesday 12:30PM. You are encouraged to collaborate with classmate, but your final write up must reflect your understanding and you must acknowledge collaborators. No late homework will be accepted. Your written homework must be stapled to prevent pages being lost. Please do not use paper clips!
 

Exams

There will be two midterms

Midterm 1: 4/24, Fri, 4:00-6:00PM (Location: TBA)
Midterm 2: 5/14, Thur, 4:00-6:00PM (Location: TBA)

and one cumulative final

Final :  6/3, Wed  3:00-6:00PM (Location: TBA)

Grading

Final grade will be computed according to the following scheme

Written Homework 23%
Exam I 23%
Exam II 23%
Participation 1%
Final 30%

Private tutoring

Tutor Clearinghouse may have private one-on-one tutors available for Math 46 (although this is rare in advanced courses, so come and talk to me if you feel lost and no tutors are available). If a student receives financial aid, the College will pay for three hours of tutoring per week. If you would like to have a tutor, please go to 301 Collis and apply as early as possible.


Withdrawing

Please note that the registrar has determined that May 19, 2015 is the last day to withdraw from a course (Spring 2015 Term Calendar).

Pertaining to the homework, while you are encouraged to discuss problems with other students, the solutions that you subsequently turn in are to be written on your own, in your own words, to show your final understanding of the problems. Please indicate at the top of your assignment whom, if anyone, you are working with. For exams, you may not consult any source, animate or inanimate, other than the instructor. Calculators will not be permitted on exams.
