WEEK 2: June 28

- Read section 1.3 and the
beginning of section 1.4

- On page 37-38 work problems 6, 10, 12, 21, 26, 28.
- On page 47 work problems 2 and 4.
- There will be no class Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.
- Also, Monday, July 5th is a College holiday.

WEEK 3: July 7 to July 9

- Read section 1.4
- On page 47-49 work problems 12, 14, (17), 18, 31 and 33.

- We will meet in our x-hour.
- Workshop problems: click here. Each group should turn in one set of solution to me on Monday. (Do not turn the workshop problems into the homework boxes.)

- Read section 1.5
- Section 1.5: 2, 4, 6, 12, 16, 26 and 38.

- Read section 1.6. (There will be no written assignment for section 1.6.)
- Read section 1.7
- Section 1.7: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 18. (Note that 4, 8 and 18 should require no row reduction.)

- Read section 1.9
- Section 1.9: 2, 8, 10, (16, 18), 22, (23, 24), 26, (28), 30, (33, 35) and 36.

WEEK 5: July 19 to 23

- Compare your solutions to the first workshop with these: click here. (You don't have to turn anything in, but this may help you craft better written solutions in the future. For example, on the next exam.)
- Section 2.2: 2, 4, 6, 12, 20, 25, (26), 32 and 34 (you don't have to prove your guess is correct in problem 34).

- Read section 2.3
- Section 2.3: 2, 4, 6, 8, 18, 26, (28), 37, (38 and 39). (Note that you should NOT have to do row reduction in 2-8!)

- Read Section 4.1
- Section 4.1: 2, 12, (23, 26, 28), 32, 33 and 34.

- Read Section 4.2
- Section 4.2: 6, 10, 16, (18, 20), 24, 32, (33, 34) and 36.

WEEK 6: July 26 to 30

- Read Section 4.3 (up to Spanning Set Theorem)
- Section 4.3: 4, 6, 8, 10 and 24.

- Read the rest of Section 4.3 and all of Section 4.4.
- Section 4.3: 14, 16, 20, (29, 30, 31) and 32.
- Section 4.4: 2, 4, 14 and (18).

- Read Section 4.5.
- Section 4.4: (8), 25, 26, 30 and 32.
- Section 4.5: 6, 8, 12, 14, 18, 22 and 26.

- Read Section 4.6.
- Section 4.6: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 20 and 26.

- Read section 4.7 and pages 328--330 of section 5.4.

- Read Section 3.1.

- Read Section 5.3

- Re-read Section 5.3 and Section 5.4
- In Section 5.3: (20), 24, (25) and 26.

- Read Section 6.1
- In Section 6.1: 14, (16, 18), 24, (26), 30 and 31.

- No assignment on systems of equations. I will shortly post a work sheet with additional details for those that are interested.

WEEK 9: August 16 to 20

- Read Section 6.2
- In Section 6.2: (2, 6), 8, 10, 12 , 20, 26, 29 and (32).

- Read Section 6.3.
- In Section 6.3: 2, 4, 10, 17, 23 and 24. (For problem 23, consider Theorem 3 on page 381).

- Read Section 6.4 through but not including QR factorization. (You are not responsible for the QR factorization.)
- In Section 6.4: 4, 6, 8, 10, 19 and 20.

LAST WEEK: August 23 to 25

- The homework assignments for Monday and Wednesday will not be collected. (Nor is it likely that you assignments turned in on Monday the 23rd will be returned before the final.) Nevertheless, this material is important and likely to be on the final exam.
- Read Section 7.1
- In Section 7.1: 14, (17), 20, 22, (29) and 30.

- Read Section 7.4. Obviously, you are not responsible for the parts of section 7.4 that refer to sections we have not covered in class or homework. In fact, you are just responsible for the material covered in lecture on Monday and Wednesday.
- Section 7.4: 8, 10, 12, 13 (see the solution to the practive problem at the end of the section on page 482), 17, and 18, (21 and 23).
- Start studying for the final. The final is Sunday, August 29th from 11:30 to 2:30 in Kemeny 105 (our usual classroom).
