In general, homework should be turned in either in class or by 4pm the day the homework is due (usually Monday), at my office (Kemeny 316).

- 4/20/2012: For HW#4, problem 3c, a fairly extensive hint has been added.
- 4/20/2012: For HW#4, problem 3, you are not allowed to use any theorems past chapter 1 in the textbook. Indeed, the theorems in chapter 2 and 3 make this problem trivial, but a large part of the point of this exercise is to see just why the later theorems are so remarkable.
- 3/30/2012: For HW #1, problem 2d, you can assume that standard properties of the exponential function on real numbers hold for complex numbers. In particular, you may assume that \( e^{z_1} \cdot e^{z_2} = e^{z_1 + z_2} \), where \( z_1, z_2 \in \mathbb C \).
