---|

There will be two "midterm examinations" and a final examination. The hour exams will come in two parts, an in-class portion in the exam period, followed by a take-home portion handed out in the exam period and due the next day. The exams are scheduled as follows:

Exam 1 | July 18, 2012 | In class / Takehome exam |

Exam 2 | August 8, 2012 | In class / Takehome exam |

Final Exam | Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012 | 3-6 PM, Kemeny 105. |

Homework Policy |
---|

- Homework will be assigned after every (regular) class meeting. The homework assignments from a given week will be collected the following Tuesday during the problem session.
- Late homework will not be accepted in the absence of divine intervention or matters of similar weight.
- Unexcused late and missing papers count zero.

Grades |
---|

The course grade will be based upon the scores on the midterm exam, homework, and the final exam as follows:

Midterm Exams | 200 points (100 points each) |

Homework | 100 points |

Final Exam | 200 points |

Total | 500 points |

The Honor Principle |
---|

On Exams: No help given or received

On Homework: You are encouraged to work together on assignments in the "figuring it out" phase, but the "writing it up" phase is strictly individual. That is, you may not copy another student's write-up, even if you collaborated on solving the problem.

Disabilities |
---|

Students with disabilities who will be taking this course and may need disability-related classroom accommodations are encouraged to make an appointment to see their instructor as soon as possible. Also, they should stop by the Academic Skills Center in Collis Center to register for support services.
