In 1982, Richard Hamilton used his Ricci flow (parabolic Einstein equation) to classify compact 3-manifolds with positive Ricci curvature. Since then much progress has been made on understanding various aspects of the Ricci flow. In this talk we shall present some recent devolopment in the study of the Ricci flow on compact K\"ahler manifolds.
