Lagrangian intersections and homotopy theory

Abstract: I shall discuss some ways in which homotopy theory enters the study of pairs of Lagrangian submanifolds of a symplectic manifold. Such pairs play a central role in symplectic topology as their intersection properties reflect some of the most specific features of the symplectic category.

This talk will be accessible to graduate students.
