Course Grade will be based upon the scores on the scores for Written Homework, Homework done online via WeBWorK, two Midterm Exams, and the Final Exam as follows:

Exams: There will be two "midterm examinations" and a final examination. Do not make plans to leave Hanover before the end of the final exam week. The exams will not be given earlier to accommodate your travel plans. The exams are scheduled as follows:

Both the written and the WeBWorK homework: will be assigned after each lecture. The WeBWorK homework can be found by logging into the WeBWorK here. The written homework assignment can be found here

All WeBWorK homework will generally be due by 8 AM on Wednesday following the week when it was assigned. The written homework will generally be due at the regular class time on Wednesday following the week when it was assigned. In Vladimir Chernov’s Section the homework should be submitted directly to the professor during the class, in Owen Dearricott’s section the written homework is to be submitted and retrieved from Assignment boxes outside Kemeny 105.

The homework assigned on Monday March 3 and Wednesday March 5 will be due on Friday March 7.

Late homework will not be accepted in the absence of divine intervention or matters of similar weight. Unexcused late and missing papers count zero.

Tutorials for the class are 7-9 PM on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday in Kemeny 006. They will be run by the Graduate Student Teaching Assistant Dan Fontaine. Please note that the students in the previous years found these tutorials to be very helpful!

Honors Principle:

· On Homework: Collaboration on homework is allowed and encouraged but no copying! Note that the figures, and hence the answers, in the WeBWorK homework assignments are likely to be distinct for all the students in the class

· In general: when in doubt ask before doing.
