Suggestions

Thanks a lot to everyone for sharing your experience and giving suggestions!

I would like to give an advice to fellow students. I found that when I do homework (prepare for quiz) it is very helpful to ...

1.  Do problems at the end of chapters for practice directly after reading and before attempting homework.

2.  Do lots of problems!

3.  Make a list of all the different types of equations you have learned how to solve, and then the first step in solving them (exact, separable, etc...).

4.  Re-do homework problems.

5. Go over problems similar to ones in past homework assignment and write down steps.

6.  Work problems that give you troubles.

7.  Go over concepts before hand.

8. Redo the example problems from class.

9.  Practice problems similar to homework problems multiple times.

10. Go to tutorial sessions when doing homework, even if you feel you know the material.

11.  Work through problems.

12.  Review lecture notes and homework.

13. Refer back to examples in lecture notes.

14. Know the form of the answer before hand.

15. Write out the basic steps for solving each type of differential equations.

16. Use lecture notes.
