There will be one midterm and a cumulative final exam. The exams are scheduled as follows:
Midterm Exam April 22, 4-6 pm Kemeny 007
Final Exam May 31, 11:30 am Moore B03

Grades

The course grade will be based upon the scores on the midterm exam, homework, paper and the final exam:

Written homework 20%
Midterm 20%
Paper 20%
Final Exam 40%

If you have a conflict with one of the midterm exams because of a religious observance, scheduled extracurricular activity such as a game or performance [not practice], scheduled laboratory for another course, or similar commitment, please see your instructor as soon as possible.

The Honor Principle

On Exams: No assistance may be given or received except that you may ask the instructor for clarification of a problem. In particular, no calculators or computing devices may be used.

On Homework: Collaboration and discussion is encouraged, and you may discuss problems with instructors, tutors, and fellow students, and use notes, books, calculators, and computing devices. However, each student is to complete his or her assignments individually and independently.

On Term paper: discussion with others encouraged and paper to be written in pairs. You and your partner must write it yourself with proper citations. We encourage you to consult with a writing editor (the College provides these through its writing programs).

Tutorials

The TA for this course is Zachary Evans. Tutorial assistance for this course and help with your homework will be available on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays 7-9pm in Kemeny 105.

Students with Disabilities

Students with disabilities enrolled in this course and who may need disability-related classroom accommodations are encouraged to make an appointment to see your instructor before the end of the second week of the term. All discussions will remain confidential, although the Student Accessibility Services office may be consulted to discuss appropriate implementation of any accommodation requested. As a first step, if students have questions about whether they qualify to receive accommodations, they should contact the Student Accessibility Service office.
