Lecture 02

• Today, we talked about discrete random variables (section 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, and 1.6). Also, in the lecture, we solved exercise 1.6.4. Sometime later, I will post my solution on Canvas.

• Next time, I will cover 1.7 Poisson distributions, and start Chapter 2. Please read 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, and 2.5 before the lecture.

• In the meantime, your homework 01 has the full descriptions for the students who do not have a copy of the textbook yet. Homework 01 is due Jan 19.
