Homework Policy

Homework assignments will be posted in the homework section of the class website and will be due in on Wednesday's at the beginning of class. It is highly recommended that you begin each homework when it is set and that you work in groups. However it is requested that your final write up be done individually.

The written homework scores not only count towards a large portion of your final grade and allow you to practice and refine your skills but, historically, those students who do the homework sets regularly fair better on the exams.

Project

Students have the option to replace part of the final exam with project work. The project will consist of a written report plus a short in-class oral presentation. The topic is of the students choice but must concern material supplementary to the course syllabus and be approved by me beforehand.

For those taking the project option, the final exam will be shorter and carry less weight.

Grades

The course grade will be based upon the scores on the quizzes, the midterm exam, the final exam, and the homework.
