Introduction to Probability (second revised edition) by Charles M. Grinstead and J. Laurie Snell.

The textbook is available online, where you can find many other resources associated with the book as well.

Homework will be posted to the webpage and will be due on Wednesdays. Solutions to the homework will also be posted to the webpage. Please take the time to write up your solutions neatly and carefully! If you enjoy working in groups, I encourage you to work with others in the class on the homework problems, but all homework is to be written up independently. Late homework will result in a loss of 10% each weekday it is late, including Wednesday if it's turned in after class. Your lowest homework score will be dropped.

Each student will do a project and present it in class at the end of the quarter. This is an opportunity to explore an interesting aspect of probability, such as more theoretical considerations, computer simulations, or particular "real-world" examples.

There will be one take-home midterm exam and a final exam.

Students with disabilities who will be taking this course and may need disability-related classroom accommodations are encouraged to make an appointment to see their instructor as soon as possible. Also, they should stop by the Academic Skills Center in Collis Center to register for support services.
