Water Hyacinth Distribution in Lake Victoria and Lac Mihindi,

This site presents a set of time series data quantifying the area covered by water hyacinth in Lake Victoria and Lac Mihindi. This data, derived from remote sensing imagery, allows students to compare population growth and predator-prey models with long range growth data in selected large bays and gulfs. Elementary teachers can use this module to help students understand graphically presented data and compare it to the same representation of the data in map form. More sophisticated students can construct discrete or continuous models and compare them with this data. This site was used in conjunction with other Electronic Bookshelf publications:
