Personal
Outside of mathematics, I spend much of my free time playing and coaching ice hockey, as well as golfing.
While at Columbia, I played for the Columbia University Women's Ice Hockey Club. I also participated annually in the Montreal Media Celebrity Hockey Marathon from 2011 to 2019, a charity event that brings together the local community, professional hockey players, and local celebrities.
In 2014, I joined the Bulgarian women’s national hockey team and competed in my first World Championship, where we earned a bronze medal. I returned for additional World Championship tournaments over the years, with my final appearance in 2018, when I had the chance to play alongside my sister. After breaking my ankle during that tournament, I gradually transitioned from playing to coaching.
Over the following years, I coached the Hanover U14 girls’ ice hockey team, spending several enjoyable seasons developing young players through 2025.
