Travel to Hanover
- AIRPORTS
CONVENIENT
TO HANOVER:
- Boston's Logan airport. The Dartmouth Coach has very
comfortable bus service between Boston's Logan airport and the Hanover Inn
on the Dartmouth campus.

use.)
- Lebanon, NH. There is a very small airport with tiny
passenger planes. It is a 15-minute drive from Dartmouth.
- Manchester, NH. Bus service from this airport is not very
frequent, but Manchester is a nice option if you would like to rent a car.
It is about 75 miles from Hanover.
- AMTRAK:
- The White River Junction stop is 15 minutes from Hanover. Amtrak's
Vermonter train travels up the east coast from Washington D.C.
(through Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York) to White River Junction.
- DARTMOUTH COACH:
- In addition to the Logan airport — Hanover service, the Dartmouth
coach provides non-stop service between New York City and Hanover.

All restaurants in Hanover are a very short walk from campus. Restaurants in
Lebanon or White River Junction require a car. Downtown Norwich is about 1.5
miles away.

- Base Camp (Nepalese)
- Tuk Tuk or Thai Orchid (both Thai), also Kata Thai has fast Thai food)
- Mollie's (family style)
- Jewel of India
- Boloco (burritos, etc.)
- Umplebee's bakery (sandwiches, salad)
- Market Table (good food, indoors can be noisy when crowded)
- Salt Hill Pub
- Sushi-ya (for sushi)
- Skinny Pancake (crepes)
- Canoe Club (more expensive)
- Pine in Hanover Inn (more expensive)
- Dirt Cowboy Cafe (coffee, tea, pastries)
- Morano Gelato for a treat!
Recreation
WALKING AND HIKING
There are many beautiful trails in and near Hanover. See for example
trails by town.
Some that are close to campus:
- Pine Park (Enter golf course by campus, stay left and you'll very shortly see a
sign indicating foot trail only)
- Mink Brook
- Appalachian Trail (Can enter it by Hanover Co-op)
- Tanzi Tract
- Oak Hill
- Balch Hill
- Montshire trails (Norwich)
- Esker Track
CANOEING
You can rent canoes at the Ledyard Boathouse by campus.
BICYCLING
Bikes can be rented by the day or the week from
Omer and Bob's in Lebanon
(about 6 miles from campus).
SWIMMING, ETC.
Storrs Pond has a public pool and pond with a beach. You can also buy day
passes to the Dartmouth gym.
MUSEUMS
Montshire Museum is a delightful science museum in Norwich, 1.3 miles from
campus.
