Exams

There will be two midterm examinations and a final examination. The midterm exams will be given outside of class, and are scheduled as follows:

Exam 1	Monday, January 29, 2007	4 - 6 pm, 28 Silsby Hall
Exam 2	Tuesday, February 13, 2007	4 - 6 pm, 28 Silsby Hall
Final Exam	Sunday, March 11	3 - 6 pm, Carpenter 13

Homework Policy

• Homework will be assigned daily and will be due at the beginning of the next class meeting.
• Late homework will not be accepted in the absense of divine intervention or matters of similar weight.
• Unexcused late and missing papers count zero.
• You must turn in neatly and carefully written assignments, which show all the steps you take to solve each problem. We reserve the right to refuse to grade any assignment that is not clearly legible.

Grades

The course grade will be based upon the scores on the midterm exam, homework, and the final exam as follows:

Midterm Exams	200 points
Homework	50 points
Final Exam	200 points
Total	450 points

The Honor Principle

On Exams: No help given or received

On Homework: Collaboration on homework is permitted and encouraged, but obviously it is a violation of the honor code for someone to provide the answers for you. Even if you work together to solve problems, you must each write up your solutions on your own.

Tutorials

We have two graduate TAs who will run tutoring sessions in 006 Kemeny Hall, on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 7 to 9pm. Tutorials will begin on Sunday, January 7.

Also note that the Tutor Clearinghouse will organize study groups for this course, and private one-on-one tutors are also sometimes available for Math 13. The tutors and study group leaders are recruited on the basis that they have done well in the subject, and are trained by the Academic Skills Center. If you would like to have a tutor or sign up with a study group, please go to 301 Collis and fill out an application as early in the term as possible.

Disabilities

Students with disabilities who will be taking this course and may need disability-related classroom accommodations are encouraged to make an appointment to see their instructor as soon as possible. Also, they should stop by the Academic Skills Center in Collis Center to register for support services.
