Exams

There will be two midterm examinations and a final examination. The midterm exams will last two hours each and will be held in the evenings. The exams are scheduled as follows:

Exam 1 October 13, 2004 7 - 9pm 102 Bradley Hall Solutions are available here. An additional solution to Problem 9 can be found here.
Exam 2 November 3, 2004 7 - 9pm 102 Bradley Hall
Final Exam Sunday, Dec 5, 2004 3 - 6pm 13 Bradley Hall

If you have an irreconcilable conflict with the time of either midterm exam please let me know as soon as possible so we can schedule an alternate exam time. The date and time of the final exam are set by the registrar and cannot be changed, so do not make arrangements to leave Hanover before December 5. The final exam will not be given early to accomodate travel arrangements.

Projects


Grades

The course grade will be based upon the scores on the midterm exam, homework, and the final exam as follows:

Midterm Exams 20% each
Final Exam 30%
Projects 10% each
Homework 10%
Total 100%


The Honor Principle

On Exams: No help given or received

On Homework: Students are permitted and encouraged to collaborate with one another and may discuss homework with instructors, tutors, fellow students and others. However, each student must complete the final draft of each assignment individually and independently. No copying!

On Projects: Honor principle guidelines will be supplied with each project and may vary from project to project. Students are responsible for reading and following the guidelines for each project.


Office Hours

In lieu of the cancelled tutorial, office hours for this course will be held on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday nights, 7 - 8 pm, in 104 Gerry.


Disabilities

Students with disabilities who will be taking this course and may need disability-related classroom accommodations are encouraged to make an appointment to see their instructor as soon as possible. Also, they should stop by the Academic Skills Center in Collis Center to register for support services.
