In this class, we study some major types of functions, such as polynomials, trigonometric functions, and exponential functions. We learn about the properties of these functions and their derivatives. We also study notions of domain, limit and continuity. At the end of this course, students should have a firm grasp of both the mechanics of differential calculus and the concepts behind it, and they should be ready to go on to Math 2, the second half of this sequence of calculus courses.
