For problem 12, try induction on the number of rows.  (Recall that a
m x n matrix is upper triangular if Aij=0 if i>j.)

Read section 4.4 and 5.1.  We will not be able to cover all
of section 5.1 in class, so read this section carefully.

When we finish Section 5.1, I will also ask you to work 2c, 3cd, and 4.
However these problems will be due Wednesday unless we get more done
on Friday than I expect.  Check this space to see.
Although I'm not sure why, there was some confusion about what, if any,
problems were due on Monday (the 18th).  So, I'll accept all of the above
problems until Wednesday (the 20th).  Because the assignment for Monday
(the 18th) was posted late, it will be due on Friday the (22nd).  Obviously, you
should take into account the fact that the take-home will also be due on Friday.
