Research

I'm interested in how we can use the tools of mathematics to understand social phenomena. For example, humans and other animals often act counter to their own interests to help others. Is there an evolutionary explanation of this?

Projects

Evolution of mutation rate - The Point of No Return, Evolution of Excess Mutation Rate is Possible Even for Simple Mutation Models. This is published in MDPI, and an interactive Matlab live script is available at my Github. There is a followup paper on the Exploration-Exploitation issue, whether to exploit the best known option of explore for a better one.

Optimizing exploration rates in multi-agent reinforcement learning. Here are slides I presented at the ICIAM 2023 conference in Tokyo, Japan.
