Recreational Activities

The Dartmouth / Upper Valley region is a beautiful place to explore during the summer, on foot, by bike, boat, swimming, or car. There will be a recreational activity planned, listed below. In your spare time you may want to a) walk up the Appalachian Trail which restarts behind the Hanover Food Coop 0.5 mile from campus, and b) walk the 0.6 mile down to the Connecticut River and rent a canoe or kayak at the Ledyard Canoe Club.

Conference-goers also discovered shuffleboard at Salt Hill Pub.

Hanover

This aerial photo shows Hanover and the Connecticut River (looking north-east from the Vermont side). At the bottom right is an island in the river that you can canoe/kayak to in half an hour from the boat rental spot.
