Due Thursday, Nov. 1

The group of students in "The Hand and the Key" found some of the puzzles Hamet hid in the walls of the Alhambra, but not all of them. There are still a few left for others to come upon, each of which illustrates an aspect of symmetry groups that is uncannily modern. The images are always a clue to the solution of the puzzle written in them. In fact, you have come upon a new one of these yourself! What does it say? What do you interpret it to mean? In what kind of image did you find it?

Please hand in (on Thursday) your puzzle, your explanation of it as Tyler would have given, and a description of how you plan to create an image of it. Decide on what media you would like to use. (We have a limited number of Wacom tablets and some of you can use these. There are 5 for Macs and 2 for PC's.) You also need to decide whether you plan to illustrate the puzzle as a single tile or as part of a larger wall pattern. Either of these approaches is ok.
