The group of students in "The Hand and the Key" found some of the puzzles Hamet hid in the walls of the Alhambra, but not all of them. There are still a few left for others to come upon, each of which illustrates an aspect of symmetry groups that is uncannily modern. The images are always a clue to the solution of the puzzle written in them. By now you should have a workable draft of a new puzzle in mind.
Your job over the weekend is to create an image of this puzzle. You may use any combination of the media we have tried so far. Please also hand in a brief sketch of the puzzle with a description of the solution (because I can't really collect your art work.) This piece will be judged on:
Mathematical creativity
Correctness of the math
Poetic expression
Artistic quality
Tuesday bring your images to class and we'll see if your colleagues can solve the puzzles!
