Martino Arkowitz, 1935–2025

Martino Arkowitz joined the faculty at Dartmouth College as assistant professor of mathematics in 1964 and rose to the rank of professor in 1971. Read the Dartmouth obituary here.

2025 Thayer Prize Exam Winners

The Math Department is pleased to announce the winners of this year’s Thayer Prize Exam, an annual first-year Dartmouth mathematics competition organized by our department. Congratulations to Andrew Zhao ’28 (first prize), Neil Bhavikatti ’28 (second prize), and Brady McGawn ’28 and Zachary Pavlov ’28 (joint for third prize)! The exam consists of Mathematics Olympiad style problems, and originality and creativity are heavily weighed.
